Duplex Strainers

Firplex duplex strainers.

The Firplex® Dual Basket Strainer has duty and standby basket chambers and an integral valve mechanism to facilitate changeover and enable continual operation whilst cleaning the off-line strainer basket. It is suitable for mounting in horizontal pipelines.

The Barton Firtop Firplex® Dual Basket Strainer

This unit is of cast construction and has a central valve chamber, with single lever operation, housing an interlinked pair of 3-way ‘T-port’ ball valves to divert the flow from duty to standby chamber without interrupting flow. The contaminated basket is accessed for cleaning via the top bolted closure which can be facilitated with quick release hand-grip knobs as an option. The duty chamber is covered by the changeover handle to discourage access whilst this chamber is on-line.

Rotagate duplex strainers.

The Rotagate® Dual Basket Strainer has duty and standby chambers with a pair of integral synchronised dual gate valves that rotate around a common central shaft to facilitate changeover, enabling continual operation whilst cleaning the ‘off-line’ strainer basket.

The Barton Firtop Rotagate® Dual Basket Strainer

This unit is of cast construction and comprises a central strainer body casting with a pair of inlet/outlet header castings that house the Rotagate® valve mechanism. The unit has a single handwheel operation, facilitating diversion of the flow from ‘duty’ to ‘standby’ chamber without process interruption. The contaminated basket is accessed via the top bolted closure which can optionally be facilitated with quick-release swing bolts. The changeover shaft is fitted with an axial indicator to identify the on-line chamber. The simplicity and ease of operation is unique in this product class, whilst a 100% seal is achieved for the isolated chambers, from Zero Bar through to 1.1 x Full Flange Rating. The CFD optimised flow-path, coupled with angled top strainer baskets achieves the lowest pressure loss coefficient available for a dual strainer with this unique, time-proven, world-leading design.
